experiencing alternative touristic scenery

Seeing is one of the main senses stimulated through the experience of tourism. The touring experience is almost invariably recorded through the photographic image. REVISIT initially uses the image as an architectural development tool, and finally as a mean for representation and transmission of new concepts concerning tourism, which deal at the same time with the notion of common ground between visitors and locals. The images and diagrams displayed in the National Pavilion o Cyprus address spatial and social issues while at the same time they transmit various meanings through the representation of transformed spaces.

The majority of the tourism campaigns promoting Cyprus worldwide as an attractive tourist destination are based on the image of an ideal place for relaxation.

Most of the times the sea and the sun are the protagonists of an idyllic scenery. Following this concept, great emphasis has been placed on the development of tourism infrastructure that is related to the beach. Consequently, it is quite a common situation to find tourists lying on sunbeds in organized beaches while enjoying the view of the sea.

The visitors of the pavilion are invited to enter the stereotypical scenery of the beach and experience alternative relaxation on customized sunbeds while looking at transformed touristic situations.
